s CHOOL Parkland's Environmental Science Trip

The Parkland Composite High School
Environmental Science class had the opportunity
to travel to the Bennett Centre in Edmonton from
March 14 to 17.
During the overnight visit students slept in the
dorm rooms at the Centre. Classwork, labs, and
tours were on the agenda as well as hearing from
several guest speakers.
Students also visited the Cenovus Gas Plant;
TransAlta's East Pit Lake (reclaimed coal-mining
land), and the Leduc #1 Energy Discovery
Centre.
Our next trip takes place April 12 to 14 in
Jasper at The Palisades Centre.

PCHS students had the opportunity to tour the Cenovus Gas Plant north of Niton Junction.
Dylan Kvatum, Brenden Mayer, Kaelix Johnson, Rahi Patel, Abby Corser, and
Maddi Biggar from the Mary Bergeron School just before another mad rush to
the bake sale items on March 14. The whole school volunteered their time and
baking to help raise money for the New Parkland Lodge furniture fund. Their
efforts raised a total of $1305. As the tables would get low, students would run
into another room and bring a wagon full to restock them. The sale ran Mary Bergeron held a bake sale to raise money for the Parkland Lodge
smoothly as students took turns working the bake sale, and each class had a furniture fund. The MBE choir went over to the lodge on March 22 and sang
different time slot to purchase the goodies. photo Deanna Mitchener songs and surprised them with a cheque of $1305.00. submitted
