Rebels football team now 3-0 on the season
by Shaylyn Thornton
The Holy Redeemer Rebels' football team
hosted their second home game of the season on
Friday September 20.
The Rebels and the Caroline Cougars gathered
on the football field behind HRH as fans set up
their seats along the sidelines.
The game opened with the Rebels' announcer
introducing each HRH player by name as they ran
onto the field. Once the Holy Redeemer
introductions were complete, they did the same
for the Cougars.
As both teams stood in the center of the field,
Haden Roth performed the national anthem and
kickoff followed shortly thereafter.
The game started off strong for both teams, as
they showed they were ready to battle it out. The The Holy Redeemer Rebels fought hard to ensure that the Caroline Cougars wouldn't advance any

Podium finishes for PCHS Sr. Boys and Girls Volleyball!
submitted Coach Andrew Visser
The PCHS Sr. Boys and Girls Volleyball teams both
found the podium this weekend after playing their second
tournament of the year in Westlock. After five games of
pool-play both PCHS teams found themselves in the semi-
finals against St. Albert Catholic High School. Having
faced them earlier in the tournament and losing in a 3-set
tie breaker on both the girls and boys sides of the
tournament, The Parkland teams knew they were in for a
tough match.
In the Girls semi-final, the Pacers came out strong going
toe-to-toe with the number one ranked St. Albert team.
Late in the set, the Pacers were able to extend their lead to
reach 25 first and shock SAC. Unfortunately, SAC would
rally back in the second set to force a third and final
tiebreak set to 15 points. Midway through the third set,
Grade 12 Sr. Naomi Muamba suffered a broken thumb
while blocking the heavy hitting SAC team, and without
this veteran presence in the Middle, the Pacers had to
settle for bronze.
In the Boys semi-final the young PCHS team found
themselves in tough against more experienced team from
St. Albert. The Pacers were unable to overcome their
opponent and dropped the match 2 sets straight finishing
the weekend with a bronze medal. The Sr. Boys will use
this match as a learning opportunity and build towards
their next tournament in Stony Plain on the 27th and 28th. PCHS Pacers Naomi Muamba and Gracie Zaddery passing in the semi finals. submitted
