Family Game Extravaganza at Niton School

by Mikaela Kuefler

The Niton Central Fundraising Society, in
conjunction with Yellowhead County, hosted the
Family Game Extravaganza at Niton Central
School on November 26. “We used the entire
school for giant games, for families to get
together and play,” said President Tammy
Ruggles.
People played in teams of 2-7 and received a
score card to keep track of wins and of what
emojis they saw around the school. On the emoji
pictures, kids had to find the letter and spell
'extravaganza'.
Approximately 17 teams played giant games,
including an obstacle course, giant Jenga,
Connect 4, bowling, and much more. Families
also played a giant Angry Bird game, which
consisted of using a sling shot to shoot balls at
boxes and green balloons (pigs). Another popular Breanna, Joey, Trace, Candice, and Chuck Canning play Get Knotted during the Family Game
game was giant Hungry Hippos. One person Extravaganza at Niton Central School on November 26.

All children received a ribbon and a chocolate
medal for collecting all the emoji letters.
“It's different than sitting at a table and playing
fashions a board game. This was interactive. You had to
get up and move, which was what we wanted,”
