Vintage snowmobiles take to the trails

by Mikaela Kuefler

The Edson Sno-Seekers and Alberta Relic
Riders partnered up to put on the Vintage Ride
event, with registration taking place north of the
intersection of 63 St. and highway 748 on
January 28.
“It's a day to go for a ride, take in some fresh
air, and enjoy the trees,” said Sno-Seekers and
Alberta Relic Rider member Calvin Robinson.
Over 60 vintage sleds participated from all over
Alberta, such as Calgary, Edmonton, and
Morinville. “I never ever expected that many,”
said Robinson.
In addition to participants, the RCMP also
attended. “I can't say more for the RCMP. They
sat down and took it all in. They were ready to
do whatever they had to, but they didn't have to.
It was perfect,” said Robinson.

North Road. When they arrived, they roasted hot
dogs and had some beverages. People could stay
in the location to relax, socialize, and admire

as Silver Summit to enjoy the day.
“The session that went on was great. Everyone
was talking and looking at everyone's machines.
People got to see some pretty cool stuff,” said
Robinson.
The event wouldn't be a success without the
multiple volunteers who made sure the location
was ready. They hauled out supplies and
equipment. In addition, many sponsors supplied
food and equipment.
The event was such a success, there could be a
possibility of making plans to have a Vintage
Ride next year. “This could be an annual deal,”
said Robinson. Participants enjoy the Vintage Ride with Alberta Relic Riders and the Edson Sno-Seekers on
