Edson Landfill

Temporary

Changes

There are some changes at the Edson
Landfill in response to ongoing fire

issues.

For safety and environmental reasons,
the Edson Landfill has been temporarily
converted from a dry landfill to dry
material transfer station operation. The
restrictions will be in place as one dry
cell is decommissioned and another is
constructed. Please observe new
signage within the site.

Restrictions

Regular materials such as tires, metals,
white goods, residential waste, and
small loads of dry material will continue
to be accepted, however, commercial or
large loads of dry material cannot be

accepted due to capacity issues.

Should you currently have such loads, or
are planning a large demolition project in
the coming weeks, other modes of
disposal will have to be considered. The
nearest sites would be the
Whitecourt/Woodlands Regional Landfill,
Hinton Landfill, and Drayton Valley's
Aspen Waste Management Facility.
Please contact these sites directly for
disposal fees and operating hours.

For further information please contact

Public Works at (780) 723-6461.
