Rides, food and fun at Summer Festival

From July 13-15, the Edson and District The solar electricity hype
Chamber of Commerce ran the Summer
Festival, held on Main Street in Edson. This
year, West Coast Amusements brought
sixteen rides, including six new rides.
Twenty eight vendors were also in
attendance selling food, face painting,
pottery, and much more. there was a good
turnout with 2,179 wristbands sold.
Previously, the festival was held in August
for twenty to thirty years and was known as blind view
the 'Sidewalk Jamboree'. Unfortunately, the
Chamber had to change the name and the window
date when one of the owners from West
Coast Amusements passed away. West Coast
Amusements made the decision to fashions Conservative
restructure and decided to have three touring
groups instead of four. iews
West Coast contacted the Chamber and
scheduled the festival for the middle of July, Guest Column by Clyde Corser
so the Chamber made the decision to change
the name to the 'Summer Festival'. January 4, January 25
Organizer, Alison Peyton, commented "it's
going awesome. The food vendors are busy
and there's lots of people on the rides. It's a February 15
really good time. I know the vendors are
happy and the food is selling like crazy." Conservative
West Coast Amusements sold 2,179 wrist March 7, 28
bands for rides. The Chamber also sold iews
tickets to the mini draw to 155 people during
the festival. A portion of the amount raised April 18 Guest Column by Clyde Corser
