Rob, Shandy's dad, said, "I want to thank so many
wonderful people, but first I want to thank my wife
Barbie who worked so hard to organize this
fundraiser. Without her effort and determination
this event would not have been possible.”
“Shandy endured the toughest test I have ever seen
and she knew that nobody deserves to go through
what she had to. She drew a beautiful little puppy Team Shandy during the first annual Shandy's Dream for a Cure Memorial Walk and fund

better way to fight cancers like her's. She was a
brave little girl and definitely my hero. We are here
today and will be back next year and the year after
that to raise money to fight Medulloblastoma Brain
Cancer and help develop newer personalized
treatments, giving all our kids better chances and
better lives. This is Shandy's Dream and it is also
our dream," said Rob.
Cheryl Bauer, representative for the Brain Tumor
Foundation of Canada, also attended the event. "I
am really grateful for the opportunity to be here
with you all today. Every dollar raised here today
will be matched by Brain Canada so a total of over
$40,000 will be going towards Pediatric Brain
Cancer Research Impact grant."
Everyone took part in a memorial walk around
Centennial Park and then the family unveiled the Rob Reichenbacher, Anderson Hartzler, Drake Reichenbacher, Torry Hartzler, and Barbie
memorial bench, beside Eddie the Squirrel, with a Brown Reichenbacher unveil the bench with Shandy's plaque and inscription.
