The Edson Fire department responded to a call
for assistance from the Weyerhaeuser mill during
the evening hours of Sunday, February 26.
Fire chief Al Schram said the fire was a “dry
bin” fire which he said happens occasionally.
The fire produced “a lot of smoke” according to
Schram who said the department was called in as
the mill was short staffed at the time.
Schram said the fire department and
Weyerhaeuser have a good working relationship.
