Pine Grove School


hosts Quilting


Retreat fundraiser

École Pine Grove Middle School hosted its
second Quilting Retreat, which ran February 7-10,
organized by Lisa Bush.
The Quilting retreat was filled up by 23
participants in two weeks and raised over $5200
for the school's breakfast program.
The breakfast program serves a healthy
breakfast with a variety of options on Tuesdays
and Thursdays for all students and staff and is
provided by staff, parent and student volunteers.
Christa Smereka, a teacher at Pine Grove, is
currently running the breakfast program and is
always looking for parent helpers and other
community volunteers.
On behalf of Lisa Bush and all the Pine Grove
community, we would like to thank the sponsors
of the retreat who generously donated items for
the silent auction: Runaway Quilting, Brittany
Bush, Denay McMorran, Trendy Twigs, Candace
Rupert, Nova Theatre, Subway, Eclipse Hair
Kids Make A Difference is sponsored by: Studio, Johnson & Herbert Construction, Diana's
Pets, I Crafted Myself, Nailed It (Kim Charles),
Raymond Bush, Braunds Independent, Integra
Tire, Bannister GM, Northern Metalic, Finning,

The Other Side Hair Studio. 23 participants turned out for Pine Grove School's Quilting Retreat raising $5200 for the school's
breakfast program.
Mrs. Bush would also like to thank Mountain
Sand & Gravel Sales/Hauling Steak and Pizza and Subway for their discounted
Quality Work meals for all participants.

Emma Larka receives a small token of appreciation from Mr. Kelly for winning
the first ever Cribbage Tournament held at Pine Grove Middle School. Emma
went undefeated out of a field of thirty players and is seen here being Date: February 25, 2019
congratulated by Hailee Johnston who placed third after losing to Jarrett
Stadnek in the 'B' side finals. Mr. Kelly will present Emma with a trophy at Pine
Grove's year end assembly as well. He would also like to thank all students
who participated for their sportsmanship, " I think the tournament was a big Time: 7:00 PM
success and I look forward to doing it all over again next year." Pictured Left to
