S ports show jumping competition of Jumper Series
by Brianne Benson
Both beginner and seasoned horse riders
gathered for the second show jumping
competition in the Diamond Hitch Jumper
Series taking place over the winter season.
Christine Alward, owner of Diamond Hitch
Equine Services, hosted the most recent
competition on January 4 at the Yellowhead
Agricultural Society arena. Alward will
organize these “fun schooling shows” once a
month until April for those interested in
English-style jumping.
Participants of all ages and skill levels were
welcome to compete.
Riders worked hard to communicate with
their horses in order to navigate through the
cross rail jumps as fast as possible without
incurring any penalties by knocking down rails
or straying from the course pattern. The Diamond Hitch Jumper Series event on January 4 welcomed horse enthusiasts of all ages and skill
