Edson 4-H Multi Club horse update

The Edson 4-H Multi Club has been a
hubbub of fun, learning, and educational
experiences.
Horse members have been busy riding every
week on Wednesdays at the Edson Rodeo
grounds and participating in club business
meetings every month.
In September our club had the opportunity to
visit the STARS air base in Edmonton Alberta.
We got a grand tour of the helicopters and had
the chance to talk with the paramedics and
pilots. It was an unforgettable experience and
our beef members donated 2% of their beef
sales to the STARS.
We also helped gather food bank items for
the Edson Food Bank drive in the fall. On
November 5, the horsemanship members
joined other Northwest Regional equine
members in Villeneuve for the annual Regional
Horse Play event. Here we learned about
equine first-aid, tack equipment, breeds, and
safety. We also built emergency first-aid kits
and a horse shoe nail craft. As usual, we
participated in the District Multi- card judging
and awards night events.
During the cold weather days, instead of
riding, we met to do alternative activities like
tack cleaning, horse treat baking, and record
books. Our horse members are progressing
through our mounted, dismounted skill and
level books.
In December we celebrated Christmas with a
huge turkey dinner, gift exchange, and games.
Currently we are doing our public speaking Rebekah Ferguson and Joyce Kelly with the Edson 4-H Multi Club at the Edson Rodeo
