Marlboro and Miller's Lake celebrate Canada Day!

In celebration of Canada Day, the Mountain
View Recreation Society hosted their own
celebration for the Marlboro, Miller's Lake, and
surrounding residents at the Marlboro Hall on
July 1.
In the morning, attendants enjoyed a
scrumptious pancake breakfast sponsored by the
Branch Inn Family Restaurant and Independent
Grocers.
A bike decorating contest was held shortly after
the breakfast, which included ribbons for first,
second, and third place. “We also had three bike
giveaways that were for three different age
categories,” said Mountain View Recreation
Society President Gil Belcourt, mentioning that
two of these bikes were donated by the Ladies
Auxiliary and the other by Edson Top Choice.
“They went to some happy young kids.”
During the afternoon, kid's activities were
available in the Hall due to the rainy weather.
“Otherwise we would have been holding it
outside,” said Belcourt. “There was just so much
more we could have done outside and it could
