Denim for CURE DAY
at Mary Bergeron communities every day! From building our towns to assisting
Seniors make a difference in our growing multicultural
charities and volunteering, senior citizens' contributions benefit
Albertans of all ages. They are our foundation. Please take the
time to attend one or more of the local events. Your
participation in Seniors' Week helps highlight and show
appreciation for Alberta's hard- working seniors!
Parkland Lodge is participating in some exciting Functions/Activities for seniors in
Edson:
Tuesday, June 4th: Soup and Sandwich Lunch at the Pioneer Cabin at 11:45 am and
Seniors Week Supper at the Legion at 5:30pm
Wednesday, June 5th: Movie at Nova Theatre at 1:00pm
Thursday, June 6th: Pancake breakfast at the Edson Fire Hall at 9:00am
Thursday, June 6th: At PARKLAND LODGE!!! Crafts and More starting at 2:00pm

Richelle Jesse with the Language Enrichment Program at Mary Bergeron
School spearheaded Denim Day where students dress up in 'Denim for
CURE'. "We had someone from the CURE Foundation contact the school to
see if someone on staff would like to take on their fundraising challenge, so I
agreed. Each classroom has a small pink box to collect money throughout the
day. It is a fun way to help support the cause and have students learn about it."
May 14 has been recognized as National Denim Day since 1997 to raise funds
for breast cancer research, medical equipment, and community programs. By
the end of the day the school had collected $650. photo Deanna Mitchener
