Dry fall conditions a risk for wildfires in the Edson Forest Region
by Jordan Rae
As of October 6, the Alberta wildfire website
reported wildfire danger in the Edson Forest Area to
be "Very High," as precipitation in the region has been
minimal as of late, and conditions are much drier than
normal. With that, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry is
reminding people about the importance of fire safety
this time of year.
Gerald Soroka Caroline Charbonneau, Wildfire Information
Officer for the Edson Forest Area, said, "Hunters,
MP Yellowhead they're out for their hunt, they have a quick little
campfire on the side of the road, or on a cut block
edge, or along a powerline… and they kind of stomp it
out a little bit and they think it's not going to go
