25th Annual Early Bird Craft Show

by Deanna Mitchener

The Annual Early Bird Craft Show took
place on September 23 and 24 at the Edson
and District Recreation Complex. Although
the event was smaller than previous years
people still enjoyed coming out see crafts and
homemade items for sale.
Val Kuzmic, spokesperson for the event,
said, "This is actually the 25th annual Early
Bird Craft Show for Edson and area. In past
the Recreation Society has always run the
craft show but with the Town of Edson taking
over the complex the Recreation Society
dissolved.
The Axeman Rugby Club was asked if they Jade Kolassa, Jayne Buchwald, Dianne Plamonden, and Tara Switzer were selling Girl Guide

work as a fundraiser.
"I volunteered to chair with little time left
for planning the event and looking for
vendors to come in, advertising, and
everything else that goes into planning a
successful event," said Kuzmic.
The group was late getting the word out and
combined with a slower economy they were
only about half full.
"I wasn't really sure what I was getting into.
We were late getting the word out into the
community but were hopeful that enough
people would still come out to support the
event," said Kuzmic.
"It is unfortunate we were only about half
full but we had to start somewhere and we Roseline and Michael Donaldson from Elk Island had some great ideas and gifts made from old
can grow from this year forward," said horse shoes and barbwire on display at the Early Bird Craft Show held at the Rec Complex on
