Teddy Bear Hunt strengthens community bonds
by Brianne Benson
The Town of Edson and Family and Community
Support Services (FCSS) continue to help
strengthen community connections with their new
Teddy Bear Hunt project.
Residents participating in the project were
tasked to decorate their windows with teddy bears
and stuffed animals for passing
vehicles/pedestrians to play “I Spy” with. Both
the Town and FCSS have been working to create
more opportunities for fun, despite residents' need
to practice social distancing due to the COVID-19
virus.
FCSS Director Sarah McDonald said, “The
ultimate goal of this project is to keep the
community feeling like a community. This is a
tough time where many people may feel
withdrawn from their friends, family and
community, so we want people to see light, in a
hard situation, and feel connected to others.” Rayne, Jorden, and Piper Elzinga decorated their window with their favorite stuffed animals as part of the Teddy
