Edson Aeros re-sign Brian Bailer

by Shaylyn Thornton

The Edson Aeros are heading into their second
season after an extremely successful inaugural
season and are filling out their roster with great
talent from all over.
While some teams may have to look far to find
the talent they need, the Aeros are proud to be re-
signing their second local player this 2019/20
season, #21 Brian Bailer.
Bailer is born and raised in Edson and started
playing hockey at only 4 years old. He played
hockey here until he was 16 years old when he
decided to make the move into Junior Hockey.
The 6'5 defenceman moved to BC at 17 for his
first year of junior hockey, and then moved to
Canmore, AB to play for the Eagles.
Bailer noted that his addition to the Aeros was
halfway into the season, as he played for the
Eagles in the AJHL until January 2019. “I came
to Edson at the trade deadline!” said Bailer.
“Once I started playing for the Aeros I felt very
welcomed into their family. Made lifelong
friendships and made so many memories on and
off the ice.”
Bailer's success doesn't just come from hockey,
and playing multiple sports gave him different
perspectives. Bailer played soccer until he was
14 when he decided he wanted to try football as
well. “When I was old enough I was given the
opportunity to play,” he said. “I took advantage
of it and it made me a better athlete.”
Still, hockey is definitely Bailer's main sport as
he continues to thrive and succeed in the Junior
Hockey world.
Bailer enjoys what it means to be an Aero both
on and off the ice. “My favorite part about being
