Edson Youth Interagency hosts Amazing Race
by Shaylyn Thornton
On Wednesday August 14, members of our
community may have noticed youth racing
through town solving puzzles, doing challenges,
and helping people out wherever they could.
This was because the Edson Youth Interagency
hosted an Amazing Race event for youth aged
11-17 to participate in events across the
community. 17 youth over 4 teams worked
together to get around and complete challenges.
Krysta Hawboldt of the Edson Youth
Interagency noted that the one-day event
accomplished a lot of great things. “The youth
were able to get out and explore the community,
navigating organizations in town,” she said.
“They were able to engage with different
organizations in Edson and complete different
challenges with each.”
There were physical tasks, mental tasks, and
scavenger hunts for the youth to participate in. Edson Fire Department hosted a mini Fire Fit relay at the Edson Fire Hall during the Edson Youth

“We wanted to have fun, get youth out in our
