Senior Pacers battle through very tough weekend

Parkland's senior boys basketball team
travelled to Eastglen High School in Edmonton
recently. They played against Eastglen, Father
Mercredi, Edmonton Islamic Academy and
Beaverlodge.
Bryce Smith, Jaden McIntosh, Diego Espinosa,
Zubin Pahwa and Carter Fousert played hard and
fought through a very tough weekend. These are
the veterans on our team and although we had a
down weekend, they never stopped playing hard.
The whole team gave their best but these players
stood out.
We played in a very small gym all weekend
which never allowed us to fast break and run the
other team, which is a strength of ours. Although
we lost three close games it forced us to play a
half court style of basketball (we are not strong
at this). I believe this will make us better as a
team in the end.
Our next game is Friday against Bellerose in Parkland's senior boys basketball team travelled to Eastglen High School in Edmonton for some

The Edson Orca Swim Club recently participated in the 46
Annual Mountain Meet in Grande Cache on February 1 and

Twenty-eight swimmers took to the water and gathered a
number of best times. A few swimmers came away with
medals as well.
Tahlia Palkun won 'Gold' for 8 & under girls, Morgan
Derricott won 'Silver' for 9 & 10 girls, Hailee Johnston won
'Gold' for 11 & 12 girls and Dylan Cooper won 'Gold' for 16
& Over Boys.
On top of these wins Sadie Kerr made multiple Festival
Standard times and she now qualifies for the Alberta Winter
Festivals North occurring February 22-23 in Spruce Grove.
She will be joined by prior qualifiers Maddox Bittner,
Morgan Derricott and Drake Chernuka.

Alberta Spring Championships March 22-24 in Edmonton
