Beyond bee basics at County's Intermediate Bee Keeping course
by Dawn Olsvik
Bees and honey were the topic of
discussion during the Intermediate Bee
Keeping Course at Pinedale Hall hosted by
Yellowhead County on January 27.
Eighteen people attended from surrounding
communities including Edson, Hinton, Carrot
Creek, Evansburg, Stony Plain and others.
This was a follow-up course to the beginner
bee keeping course run earlier.
The facilitator was Patty Milligan who is an
Educational Consultant from Bon Accord,
Alberta. Patty was a honey producer but in
recent years has been concentrating on
education. Participants were mostly new bee
keepers with one to two years of experience.
Some of the topics covered were hive
health, seasonal management, splitting,
swarming, honey harvesting and others.
The group was very interactive, sharing PASSPORT PHOTOS & MORE
experiences and asking many questions. It
was agreed that no matter how many years of Professional Digital Passport System photos
experience you may have there are always Tom Fisher of Edson, Ryan King of Evansburg, Wilma Swinkels of Wildwood, and Tracy Sutherland of ready in minutes while you wait...
