Edson Public Library to celebrate 75 years

The Edson & District Public Library is inviting
community members to join as they celebrate 75
years of service in Edson on July 6, 2019.
From 11:30 am to 4 pm, community members can
visit the library to enjoy live music, crafts,
children's activities, face painting, sparkle tattoos
and a delicious multi-cultural lunch complete with
Sri Lankan, Indian, Indigenous, and Filipino dishes
(available until 1 pm). The Edson & District
Recycling Society will also have their Enviro
Discovery Trailer on site to educate attendants
about renewable energy and environmental
stewardship and show how solar energy can be
used to create good things.

been closed due to fuel shortages during WWII.

Company decided to reopen their service station

Edson community members began demanding
more hours of service in early 1960, which was
complimented by the need for more books.
In November of 1963, a decision was made to go
