Two dozen people discuss 2020 budget at Coffee with Council
by Cassie Kushniruk
As the Town of Edson begins preparations for
its 2020 budget, Council invited community
members to Repsol Place and the Edson Public
Library on November 7 for their most recent
Coffee with Council to discuss the proposed
budget.
“With the economic conditions that we're under
here in Alberta, there's always a concern on costs
and what we're looking at as a Council,” said
Town of Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara. “The
budget is the most important document for
Council and for the community, so it's important
to get that engagement.”
The event attracted approximately two dozen
community members between the two locations,
and attendants had the opportunity to ask a
multitude of questions ranging from the Multi-
Use Facility to operational and capital costs.
“There were some questions about why we're
looking at spending $1.1 million over at Vision
Park on a water well and washroom facility,” On November 7, Town Council invited community members to Repsol Place and the Edson Public
