Edson Golf Club requests County's support for new building

Edson Golf Club Treasurer Keith Linford and
Vice President Jacob Banack appeared before
County Council on February 18 to request
support for the construction of a new clubhouse
building.
The Edson Golf Club was formed in 1955 as a
not-for-profit society. During that time organizers
made an arrangement with a local landowner
and rented land just east of Edson for $400 per
year. The 80 acres was later purchased for
$10,000 followed by an opening day on May 25,
1958. The club was able to purchase additional
lands from the Town of Edson for $1 and the
course was expanded to 18 hole in the mid 80's.
In the first year of operations, 48 memberships
were sold at $25 each, with green fees priced at
