COVID-19 UPDATE
Town of Edson
(as of June 3rd, 2020)
We would like to remind everyone of the importance of
physical/social distancing and mass gatherings as we
continue with the Provincial relaunch. If you are out
enjoying the parks or trail system, please ensure you keep
an appropriate 2 metre distance from each other. And
please, if you are experiencing ANY symptoms of COVID-
19, stay home. It's up to us to help control the spread. Some
measures will be reviewed as we move forward with our
Edson Relaunch strategy.
Some Local info:
- Edson's mass gathering restrictions have been relaxed to
match Provincial numbers (15 indoor / 50 outdoor with
proper distancing).
- Willmore Park Camping is now open through
reservations only.
- Civic Centre is now open on Tuesdays from 10am to
3pm with extra safety precautions in place. Remote banking
and meeting options are still recommended whenever
possible. Starting June 15th, the Civic Centre is planned to
be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.

Rate Changes
Council will hold an online meeting to consider
a proposed development for accessory
buildings on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at 7:00
pm through a meeting online
Council has the authority to issue development
permits in the Direct Control District. YELLOWHEAD COUNTY USER CHANGES
Effective June 15, 2020, ALL users of the Edson Landfill will be
subject to the same fee schedule. This includes Yellowhead
County users, who were previously exempt. Yellowhead County
Council approved the change at their May 26th Council
Meeting. For more details on the rates and fees applicable,
please visit www.edson.ca/residents/landfill.
RATE CHANGE (MATTRESS DISPOSAL)
A reminder that, effective June 3, 2020, a $20 surcharge was
implemented for mattress disposal. (Box Springs excluded).
This fee offsets the extra fees put in place by the West
Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority for mattress
disposal. Mattress recycling options are also being explored.
