Edson first responders were honored at the
Lions Club Hall on March 2 as they were
treated to a special night out full of fun,
th
laughter, and fellowship for the 4 annual First
Responders Appreciation Dinner and Dance.
“This event was originally started by my wife,
Kristie Gomuwka, and I four years ago when
we saw some unfortunate tragic events in our
community,” said Edson Citizens on Patrol
Vice President and Town of Edson Mayor
Kevin Zahara. “We wanted to bring first
responders together to thank them for their
work that they do in our community each and
every day.”
From firefighters to RCMP members, Edson's
first responders enjoyed the evening spent
showing off their moves on the dance floor,
joking with fellow colleagues, and simply
chatting with each other off duty. “It's really an
opportunity for you all to come together and
converse and have some fun,” Zahara said to
the attendants.
“This could not have happened without the
volunteers,” said Zahara, who thanked the Edson Fire Chief Tyler Robinson,Director of Protective Services Alan Schram, and Edson Mayor Kevin
