Rebels football team continues to thrive

by Shaylyn Thornton

The Holy Redeemer Rebels football team
continue to impress as they increased their league
record so far this season to 4-1 after an intense
game against the Camrose Royals on October 10.
The Rebels more than doubled the points that
the Royals earned, finishing the game with a
score of 50-22.
Something that quickly becomes apparent to all
those checking out a Rebels game is how well
the team moves together. Their plays are smart
and well-intentioned and are carried out by the
team as a unit and not just a couple of strong
players.
Rebels player #52 Jaden Langridge spoke about
his “tight knit” team. “We can depend on each
other,” he said. “If we lose a player, we can
always turn to another player and say, 'Hey, we Rebels player #17 Rudy Clark leapt into the air during a game against the Camrose Royals, in an attempt

Being a part of a great team is something that is
very important to Langridge. He had never
played a sport before when he decided to try
football. “It was just something I found passion
with,” he said. “I gave it a try, and turns out, I
love it.”
Langridge has also enjoyed getting to know
new teammates this season. “Some of the Grade
9 players, we didn't know them,” he said. “But
after a couple practices and games we really
became a tight knit group. We all became a pretty
good football family.”
At the game against the Camrose Royals, the
Rebels showed their drive and love for the game.
#37 Tayte Zaporosky was “really happy” with
the way the team played throughout.
Zaporosky especially noticed “Everyone's will
