Times Baker's Dozen Day Camp returns to the Red Brick

Fun for Kids day camp was back by popular
The Red Brick's Baker's Dozen
demand, as a second group of
children participated in an
additional round of making sugary
delights on Wednesday, August 7.
The day began with the
construction of personalized baking
hats, which were decorated with an
array of imaginative colour.
From 9:30 am to 3:30 pm the
young pastry chefs had the
opportunity to learn how yeast
works, as they baked soft pretzels
with day camp organizers and Red
Brick summer students Morgan
Konchakowski and Becca Harrison.
"We had a really fun group of
little bakers," said Harrison. "We
also made mini Oreo cheesecakes,
classic chocolate chip cookies,
watermelon-inspired Rice Krispie
treats as well as played baking-
related games and had a lot of fun
conducting taste tests."
This second Baker's Dozen day
camp is a result of a long wait list
from the Red Brick's first baking
camp, which was held in early July.
With single day camp costs ranging
from $35-$45, the Red Brick
includes a complimentary lunch
and snacks for all camp goers, and
all summer programming has filled.
"Our summer programming has
been super successful; we're having
a lot of fun," said lead programmer
Konchakowski. "We're really
pleased to see such a positive
response!"
Up next will be a galaxy-themed
day camp and a Fun at the Beach
