by Cassie Kushniruk.

Award-winning, in.die rock band Hillsburn
made their first appearance in Edson on January
30, bringing their unique talents to the Red Brick
stage as part of fundraising efforts for the Town
of Edson Community Service's new youth
programming center.
The center, dubbed the 'Youth Shack', is
located in Kinsmen Park and is in need of
funding for renovations, including the creation
of a recreation area, a full kitchen, bathrooms,
and more. "We're hoping that we can create an
inclusive space that brings our youth together
from all different backgrounds and gives them a
place to be themselves and hang out," said Town
of Edson Community Development Coordinator
Diana Inscho. "We see a need for it and we are
really excited to be moving forward with it."
The five-piece band hailing from Halifax was
excited to play for the community of Edson, and
even expressed their light humor by sharing
stories about their time spent in the Daycare
Centre, which acted as their green room. "It's
lovely here," said vocalist/violinist Rosanna
Burrill. "Everyone is so friendly."
Each band member brought something distinct
and unique to the Hatlen Theatre stage, proving
that Hillsburn is a collaborative effort between
