S ports by Shaylyn Thornton
The Edson Aeros and the Barrhead Bombers
met up quite often in the first half of the season,
and that trend seems to be continuing in the
second half.
On the weekend of January 24-26 the Aeros
faced off against the Bombers in three games,
two of which were played in Edson and one in
Barrhead.
The Friday night game was held at Repsol
Place, and started off strong for our home team.
The score after the first was 4-0 thanks to
Maverick Baxtrom, Mathew Rathbone, and
Niklas Froden who scored twice.
In the second period, Philip Bjorkman and
Quentin Stempfel added to the Aeros' tally
bringing the team to a 6-0 lead.
The third saw even more success for the
Aeros, as the team netted another five goals
thanks to Jarius Moar, Baxtrom, Elias
Rongione, Samuel Pollock, and Coleman
Mueller.
Rathbone was named Player of the Game for
his three point night consisting of one goal and
two assists.
