YKCS Wins
Gold at Zones
by Deanna Mitchener
It was a sweet triumph for the Boys Basketball
Team at Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School
after winning Gold during the Zone Play Offs
over the March 3rd weekend.
Coach Scott Murray, who has been coaching
with YKCS for the past two years, said, "We
played our zones at Parkland Composite High
School. The guys really came together at the
end."
"We come from a small school with around 60
students. We have just a handful of boys from
grade six to grade nine —the underdogs you may
say. So, as a team they really pulled through and
came together as a team," said the Coach.
"Competing against five or six other schools,
our students had a couple of pretty close and
tough games against other schools, but they
played hard and it all paid off," said Coach
Murray.
